Product detailed description
NETIO PowerPDU 4KS is a smart PDU (Power Distribution Unit) with 4 metered & switched power outputs (4x IEC-320 C13) and 1x DI (Digital Input). PDU measures power consumption (A, kWh, TPF, W, V, Hz) and switching On/Off each power output individually. Device supports local Ping & Power WatchDog and Scheduler functions.
PowerPDU 4KS can be mounted in rack cabinets – horizontally, vertically, or as a 1U device. Each output can user switch manually over the web, the NETIO cloud service, or with a Mobile App (Locally or via NETIO Cloud). The DI (Digital Input) can control the outputs or count S0 pulses (ext. power metering).PDU supports Open API for 3rd party integration (http JSON, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, MQTT-flex, Telnet, ...).
The NETIO Mobile2 app controls each output individually over LAN (local network) or the NETIO Cloud service.
NETIO Cloud is a TLS-secured service for controlling the outputs from anywhere (Web or Open API).
Open API allows controlling the outputs over the network using various protocols (http XML/JSON, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, SNMP, Telnet and more... ).
AV drivers make it easy to connect NETIO sockets to professional Audio/Video systems such as Neets, CRESTRON, Control4 and more.
- Each output can be controlled separately
- OPEN API: MQTT-flex, Modbus/TCP, Telnet, JSON, XML, SNMP
- Mobile app: NETIO Mobile2
- Service: NETIO Cloud (secured by TLS)
- Industrial features: Wide range of operating temperatures, PowerUp state, ZCS (Zero Current Switching)
Typical applications of remotely controlled power sockets
- Remote restart (over the Web)
- Energy savings
- Switching power outputs on and off with a mobile app
- Switching sockets on and off using the NETIO Cloud service
- Controlling electrical sockets with a driver from multimedia applications (Crestron, Control4, RTI, BrightSign, …)
- Open API MQTT cloud connection to portal applications (AWS, IBM Bluemix, MS Azure)
Open API
For Open API communication, one M2M protocol can be chosen from among the following:
- Modbus/TCP
- MQTT-flex
- Telnet
- URL API (http get)
- JSON over HTTP
- XML over HTTP
- SNMP v1/v2
- SNMP v3
- HTTP(s) Push JSON
- HTTP(s) Push XML
The SNMP protocol can be always used in parallel to other APIs.
Documentation for the protocols is available on the manufacturer’s website. The ANxx Application Notes provide useful deployment guidance.
Regardless of the one Open API protocol used, the PowerPDU 4KS can be always controlled from its web interface and from the NETIO Cloud service at the same time.
Professional product
A smart PDU with LAN connectivity, PowerPDU 4KS is designed for professional use.
- Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +65°C
- PowerUp state – the state of the outputs after the device is powered up is configurable (On/Off/Last)
- PowerUp sequence – outputs are switched on with defined timing
- Simple installation into a 10” or 19” cabinet as a 1U device or vertically at a side
- ZCS (Zero Current Switching) – the relay is switched when the current crosses zero. This allows switching devices with a high inrush current.
- Ping Watchdog - autonomous ping restarter
- Power Watchdog - IDLE mode detection & restarter
